***REVISION.DOC - Revision History for BIBLEV.EXE***
Version 4.04
1) Added the ability to specify timeout values in seconds,
as well as minutes, for use when displaying "More" or
"Press any key to continue" prompts.
2) Added a "Don't Wait" command line option (D). This may
be used to suppress "More" and "Press any key to
continue" messages when running in Standard (BIOS) Text
mode. It may also be combined with the existing "N"
parameter in the form "ND".
3) Changed some of the fonts provided in Graphics mode,
increasing the total number from nine to ten.
Version 4.03
1) Split output screen in Direct Video text and in
Graphics mode into 2 separate boxes - one for the Title
and Copyright notice, and one for the Verse. Also
removed "The Verse of the Day is" message from both of
these output modes.
Version 4.02
1) If running in Daily Verse Mode, an error occurred on
the days that the last verse in the verse file was to
be displayed. Instead of displaying the verse, the
program would briefly flash a blank verse screen, and
then return to DOS. This problem is now corrected,
and all verses in the verse file will be utilized.
2) When running in Graphics Output mode, an error in the
calculation of the left margin of the screen caused
text styles without serifs (Sans-serif, Eurostyle,
Simplex) to be displayed with virtually no margin.
This seemed to be most prevalent on EGA displays.
Also, the screen margins would vary based on the
character style and size selected. These problems
have been corrected, and BIBLEV now provides
consistent borders in all graphics modes, with all
text styles and sizes.
Version 4.01
1) When running the program in Color Text mode (output
mode 2), the cursor was sometimes left off when exiting
the program. This has now been fixed.
Version 4.00
1) BIBLEV now automatically determines when the number of
verses in the verse file has changed. The user no
longer needs to run Setup after modifying the verse
file.
2) A user selectable time-out value has been added to
Setup. This is used when waiting for a key to pressed
to exit the program, or while waiting at a 'MORE'
prompt.
3) The use of the DOS environment variable "BIBLEV" has
been eliminated. Instead, the DOS path is used to
search for the data files needed by BIBLEV.
4) Five more graphics mode fonts have been added!
5) The user can now change the size of characters in
graphics mode.
6) An interactive setup screen has been added to Graphics
mode setup, allowing you to see font and color
selections as you make them.
7) A Color Text mode has been added, with interactive
color selection, allowing you to see the color
combinations as you choose them.
8) The "Daily Verse" mode has been modified to support
virtually unlimited verses.
9) Super VGA (800x600) support has been added to Graphics
mode.
10) Graphics mode output has been improved.
11) The "N" command line option has been added, to allow
suppression of the Title and Copyright notices in
Standard Text and CGA Graphics output modes.
Version 3.10
1) Support for a DOS environment variable "BIBLEV" has
been added. By utilizing this feature to specify the
directory containing the BIBLEV data files, and
including the directory containing BIBLEV in the DOS
path, the program can be now be run from anywhere on
the hard disk.
Version 3.00
1) A graphics-based output mode has been implemented.
Support is provided for VGA, EGA, Hercules MGA, and CGA
graphics adapters. Four vector screen fonts are
available in graphics mode. Color support is provided
in graphics mode.
2) Automatic word-wrap is implemented in graphics mode.
3) BIBLEV and the configuration program 'SETBV' have now
been combined into one program, BIBLEV. Setup mode is
invoked by typing "BIBLEV S".
4) The BIBLEV program file now has an 'EXE' extension
instead of a 'COM' extension.
Version 2.21
1) The MORE filter no longer echoes the keystroke to
screen.
Version 2.20:
1) A "MORE" filter has now been added for verses that are
longer than 22 lines in length. This prevents long
passages from scrolling off of the screen.
Version 2.11:
1) Version 2.0 had a bug which would show up if the last
verse in the verse file was selected. BIBLEV would not
stop reading at the end of the file, and would keep
printing spaces. This has been corrected.
2) BIBLEV now clears the screen when run, so that when run
from a batch file, it is the only thing on the screen.
3) BIBLEV now pauses for you to strike a key after run.
This means that you no longer have to put a PAUSE
command in your batch files.
Version 2.0
1) BIBLEV, originally written in compiled BASIC, was
completely rewritten in C, greatly enhancing speed.
